The Environmental Services industry comprises the Cleaning, Waste Management and Pest Management sub-sectors. It is made up of more than 2,000 establishments and includes a mix of both international and local enterprises.
The industry has a workforce of over 80,000 individuals who are employed in a diverse range of jobs. These include general cleaners to engineers and specialists in waste collection, recycling and waste treatment. It consists of environmental health and safety professionals as well.

SCHEDULE & COURSE OUTLINE:
Module 1: Customer Management

The unit covers the basic knowledge and skills required in maintaining good personal grooming and hygiene standards. This also includes improving interaction with customers, clients, as well as providing quality service delivery; contextualized for tray return workers in food shops, canteens and coffee shops.
Duration: 1 day (9am -6pm) – Everyday Schedule is available except PH
Module 2: Workplace Safety and Health Practices Implementation (SF)
$202.09 (Full Fee) | $72.31 (With Funding)
This is a training & assessment program that will give you an introduction to the workplace safety and health issues in Singapore.
Duration: 1 day (9am -6pm) – Everyday Schedule is available except PH
Module 3: Furniture and Furnishing Maintenance
$327 (Full Fee) | $117 (With Funding)
This is a training program that will equip you with the skills and knowledge in removing loose dust and debris, spillage and stains manually from furniture and furnishings.

Module 4: INTEGRATED – PERFORM BASIC CLEANING OF HARD FLOOR SURFACES AND WASHROOMS

This is a composite training program that will equip you with the skills and knowledge in cleaning of washrooms and hard floor surfaces area.

Financial support/incentives for you to attend these courses:
Course fee support:
A) Additional SkillsFuture Credit of $500 (Mid-Career Support Scheme for Singaporeans aged 40 – 60) which can be used to pay for environmental service courses
B) NTUC UTAP: 50% of cash payment will be claimable for NTUC members (Up to a cap of $250 or $500, depending on age group)
C) SkillsFuture Credits (All Singaporeans) or PSEA (21 – 30yrs old/Singaporean)
Training Allowance support schemes:
A) Learners with WSS letter are eligible for: –
- Training Commitment Award: $200/year after completing 4 WSQ modules
- WSQ full qualification: $500 per qualification
- Training Allowance: $6/hr (subject to approval)
B) Absentee payroll Company-sponsored (NON-SME/SME) eligible to apply absentee payroll capped at $4.5/hr. From Jul 2023, Absentee Payroll (AP) for employer-sponsored trainees: 95% of hourly basic salary, capped at $13 per hour.
