OVERVIEW:
This Course provides the foundational knowledge required for a beginner to join a project team and serve as the first step on their path to a project management career.
This Course will provide an overview of project management terminology and includes foundational topics such as project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling and closing the project.
The participant will also learn structured project management approach to manage projects, provide direction and guidance to others, participate as a team member in projects, and will help the participant to be more effective in their role, provide them with a proven set of practical approaches, tools and techniques that will be applicable across all industries.
Participants will work in teams to plan and execute simulated projects with techniques and approaches used by professional project managers.
At the end of this action-based workshop, participants will be able to:
- Apply the principles of project management
- Determine the elements to increase project success
- Prepare project charter
- Identify stakeholders
- Develop project plans
- Apply techniques to identify risks
- Plan risk responses to manage the risks
- Validate project plans to meet project objectives
- Implement project plans to complete the work defined by the project plans
- Apply methods, tools and techniques to assess and address project issues, track and monitor project progress, and project reporting to management
